What is Our Consenting Process for Hip & Knee Surgery?

Step 2: Provision of Comprehensive Information.
Following the consultation, we provide you with all the necessary materials, including patient guides and links to reliable resources, to give you time to consider the information.
Step 3: The Consenting Form.
You will receive a detailed consenting form that outlines the procedure, risks, benefits, and alternatives. We encourage you to read this carefully and use it to prompt any further questions you may have. Your surgeons will also visit you on the day of the surgery before and after to ensure everything is ok.
Step 4: Shared Decision-Making.
The final decision is a partnership. We ensure you have ample time to process the information and ask any final questions before you agree to proceed.
How Does Consenting for Patient Testimonial Videos Work?
Sharing a testimonial can be an inspiring way to help other patients feel more confident about their own journey. We are incredibly grateful to our patients who agree to share their stories, and we ensure the consenting process for this is just as meticulous as our surgical consent.
- Explicit and Voluntary Consent. We never pressure patients to give a testimonial. The decision is entirely voluntary and is always sought once you are well into your recovery and happy with your outcome.
- Full Control Over Your Content. You have complete control over the video content. We will not use any part of the testimonial without your explicit approval.
- Privacy and Confidentiality. We will discuss exactly what information will be shared and ensure your identity and data are handled with the utmost care.
- Right to Withdraw Consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, for any reason, and we will immediately remove your testimonial from all platforms.
