Verity’s Rapid Recovery Bilateral Hip Replacement Experience
(0:00) As you can see, I really can’t be using my crutches at all. (0:04) I had developed advanced arthritis in both hips for the last five years. (0:17) I’d been seen by a surgeon, he wouldn’t touch me, so I was at a dead end.
I didn’t know what to do. (0:29) I knew that I couldn’t carry on living like that, it was just too much. (0:34) I emailed them in November, middle of November, and they got back to me straight away (0:42) with an appointment with Professor Adrian Wilson.
He said my hips were really bad, both of them, (0:52) they were shocking. He said that he could possibly do a bilateral hip replacement, (1:01) I couldn’t believe it. Bear in mind, just say I had to go through a few more tests, (1:06) a heart scan and what have you, make sure everything’s okay, which luckily enough it was.
(1:11) Come the 4th of December, I was there having the operation, I couldn’t believe it. (1:16) I could get up and walk straight away with my crutches. I’m still using my crutches now, (1:22) because I’m still learning how to walk, squat, there’s hardly anything there.
(1:26) I’m off the painkillers, I’ve been on painkillers for years and years, which (1:30) having kidney problems isn’t brilliant as well, so I’m off the painkillers, which is amazing. (1:43) To inspire other people who find themselves in a similar situation that I was in, (1:53) it’s worth, well worth getting in touch with Orthopaedic Innovation. They’ve changed my life, (2:02) well they’ve given me my life back and they’ve served my life, that’s for sure.
(2:14) I’ll see you at the wood yard.
