Stuart’s Osteotomy Surgery
(0:00) I did a cross-country assault course half marathon back in May. (0:05) And how was that? (0:06) Good, yeah, a lot of fun. (0:07) Any symptoms? (0:09) No, fine.
(0:09) The knee was starting to impact and slow you down, you felt it when you were running? (0:13) Yeah, a bit of pain when I set off running, you know, that sort of thing. (0:17) Every time I applied pressure through the knee it hurt a bit. (0:19) And you’re a pretty fit guy, what kind of stuff do you normally do? (0:22) Swim, run, cycle, and normally go out and do about 80k on a Sunday on the bike.
(0:26) He works for the company that supplies the plates that allow us to do our osteotomy surgery. (0:31) So that’s a relatively small incision that’s been made on the inside of his knee. (0:35) He’s had the plate removed.
(0:37) And since you’ve had the osteotomy it obviously took a bit of time to get over it, (0:39) but once you were back on your feet, how long was it, four months and you were kind of flying? (0:43) What did it take? (0:45) Yeah, about that, yeah. (0:46) That’s what we normally say. (0:47) Did a walking holiday in the Lake District in September, so that’s sort of three or four months afterwards.
(0:52) And what sort of stuff have you got back to? You mentioned a few things. (0:54) Yeah, everything. I guess the ultimate test will be skiing this winter if I can.
