Robin’s Hip Replacement
“I certainly would recomment it, and I have!”
(0:00) I read about it in the newspaper, it seemed the ideal way to go and I was, well, it was better (0:07) than I expected. Well, I had the operation on the Friday and by the following Wednesday I’d stopped (0:12) taking pain medication.
And you walked in today with, well you drove from, you live in Maidenhead, (0:18) you drove up to the Cromwell, yeah, yourself for two weeks and you said, you know, that’s (0:23) quite impressive.
Are you surprised that you could drive or when did you start driving? (0:27) I started driving a week ago, a week ago, Monday . So roughly 10 days after surgery? (0:35) Roughly, yeah, roughly 10 days after. Driving was fine, getting in and out of the car was more (0:40) of a challenge, but I quickly cobbled on it and pushed the seat back and gave myself a bit more (0:46) room and it’s okay.
Now I don’t need to do that, I can go in and out. Brilliant, brilliant.
(0:52) Well, this weekend I drove down to Dorset and back and sat down on Saturday, back on Sunday. (0:59) And you were just saying about a friend of a friend who’s had a similar operation? (1:03) Well, had a more conventional operation and she, well, she certainly wasn’t driving (1:08) until at least five weeks. And I’ve heard, I think that’s a general comment, although her (1:14) friends of friends have taken a long time to get to the state I was in, (1:20) what 10 days I would guess.
That’s what it says on the tin, it is rapid recovery.
(1:25) And you’d recommend it then? (1:26) I certainly would recommend it, and I have. (1:28) Brilliant, thank you.
