Richard’s Hip Replacement Journey
(0:00) When the time comes for this one, I’ll be doing it all over again. I just completely love it.
(0:05) How much pain were you in with your hip? (0:06) Oh, constant, constant pain. It was to the point that pain killers wouldn’t work. (0:11) I would take them, but they didn’t do anything. Short distances, I’d have to rest, (0:16) and it was just really achy all the time. (0:18) Making your job difficult. (0:20) Yes.
(0:20) And then you had the hip and you obviously went home quite quickly. (0:24) I did, the next day. (0:25) How much pain were you in afterwards? (0:26) So, no pain really. No pain in the hip, that’s for sure.
(0:32) The hip joint pain that I was experiencing wasn’t there.
(0:36) And so you were off your crutches by the second week, (0:39) you’re back driving your van, you’ve done a bit of handyman stuff already. (0:45) And overall, how do you feel about the experience? (0:48) I love it.
(0:49) Being able to go up and down stairs without any support normally? (0:53) Without the crutches was on for about one and a half weeks. (0:56) You know, are you surprised at how quickly you’ve been able to get back on your feet? (1:00) Yeah, I’m surprised. I wasn’t expecting it, (1:03) because the amount of pain I was feeling, just because of my muscles, (1:09) After the op I though ah ok..
(1:13) But everything progressed. Every day, there was a constant improvement.
