Ray’s Hip Replacement Surgery Experience
“Unbelievable! I am driving after 2 weeks. I am doing everything.”
(0:02) So what do you think about the hip? (0:07) Unbelievable. You know, I’m driving after two weeks. (0:11) Yes, I think it probably makes it easier because I’m in a van, (0:14) but I’m driving after two weeks. (0:17) I’m cooking, I’m walking, I’m shopping, I’m doing everything.
(0:24) And how much pain were you in when you woke up? (0:27) Hardly any. Hardly any. (0:29) And you stayed in for how long? (0:31) Just one day. (0:33) And then the next day you were able to… (0:35) Lunchtime, back home, and because my wife’s not a very good cook, (0:40) I’m cooking that evening.
(0:43) And how much pain were you in before the surgery? (0:48) It was getting worse. Gradually, gradually getting worse. (0:52) I do put up with pain, I feel, but the time was right. (0:56) The 20th of December was the right time to have this operation done. (1:02) And, you know, with yourself and Kristian, (1:06) I couldn’t believe how small the cut is. (1:10) There is no infection. There is no problem.
(1:13) How big would you say the incision is? (1:15) You have to put your fingers… (1:17) Where it looks like. (1:18) Yeah. (1:18) Yeah, that’s what it is, yeah. (1:20) But the plaster’s still on. (1:23) I’ve been able to wash, you know, without necessarily having to shower. (1:28) I’ve washed thoroughly. (1:32) I’m overjoyed.
