Mike’s Osteotomy Surgery
(0:00) Considering what was done, I’m amazed about how, you know, how painless, well you’re obviously (0:06) adding some pain, but it’s not being very manageable. This is Mike’s wound which is, (0:12) what do you reckon, three and a half centimetres? Maybe four maybe, and push your knee down flat (0:19) for us and bend your knee for us Mike. So this is Mike’s pre-leg valvus, you can see the previous (0:27) fracture there, so you can see the weight bearing line well and truly through the outer (0:31) compartment.
In fact, his valvus bilaterally is going to have surgery on the other side. (0:34) If we look at what we’ve done, we’ve got a closing wedge, so there’s the side here in the front, (0:41) but you can just see the biplane cut here actually, and it’s closed really nicely. (0:46) And how much pain have you experienced when you’ve come to me since the surgery? (0:50) I would say the pain I’ve experienced is very limited, certainly manageable.
(0:55) Considering what I’ve done, I’d be surprised how limited the pain’s been. (0:58) Yeah, that’s great. And you had a meniscal repair, didn’t you? This was much more… (1:02) Yeah, the meniscus repair was definitely more uncomfortable, but again, very much manageable.
(1:08) How many weeks are you post-op? (1:10) This is three weeks and one minute. (1:13) Excellent.
