Lesley’s Double Hip Replacement Surgery
(0:00) I was surprised to be able to walk from the hospital bed to the bathroom without, well, (0:06) I had a walker, that’s fine.
Six months ago your hips were so bad that you were in a wheelchair. (0:13) That’s correct. You were really struggling with, you know, terrible pain and it was quite (0:18) difficult to get around, even just use the loo and stuff. Yeah, absolutely.
The hips were just (0:22) awful, so that one’s trying to escape, it’s no longer spherical, that one’s, you know, (0:27) just terrible.
Now we’re six weeks down the line, how much pain are you in? (0:32) Very little pain. I get tired and I get achy by the end of the day, (0:37) but that’s going to be expected. It’s been surprising that I’m able to do as what I can, (0:45) as much as I can.
And you’re able to have gotten downstairs? Yes, fortunately I don’t have to go (0:52) upstairs a lot, but there are steps that I do have to go up and down. So you’re doing the stairs, (0:59) you’re moving around, you’re out of the wheelchair, you’re six weeks down the line, (1:02) very little pain and they were quite challenging. So there’s the after.
So I suppose the question (1:14) is, are you happy? I’m extremely happy and I would certainly recommend the procedure. (1:19) Having them done both at once is an absolute no-brainer.
