Lee – Hip

Lee’s Hip Replacement Story

“I feel great, I’m in love with the world! I had terrible pain in my groin, and that’s completely gone.”

(0:05) Let’s see you walking. Towards over there? Yeah. (0:12) How did you find out about sort of this? Instagram (0:16) Right. (0:17) And you are lovely boys. (0:20) And you are. (0:22) Cheers.

(0:23) All right, so you’re in recovery. (0:25) I’m in recovery. (0:25) We’ve just done the hip. (0:27) How are you feeling? (0:28) I feel great. (0:29) I’m in love with you all. (0:33) Thank you. (0:35) A little bit of discomfort, a little bit like toothache, you know what I mean? (0:38) So you’re happy? (0:40) Very happy. (0:40) Thank you very much. (0:41) You’re a star. (0:42)

We told you to train actually and bring it slowly the way to that side. (0:47) How does that feel? (0:49) Getting easier. (0:51) Give me your hand. (0:53) Give me your hand, your left hand. (0:54) And then let’s walk towards Adrian. (0:58) It’s only a few hours after surgery, look at that big smile on that face, not bad, not (1:08) bad. (1:10) Okay, walk back to the other side, back into your bed. (1:16) So just for the camera, how many kilos are you having? (1:20) 180. (1:20) So Adrian, come around, may we expose the scar? (1:30) Okay. (1:31) Perfect. (1:32) That’s it. (1:33) Go back into your bed. (1:35) That was it.

(1:38) So we’ve done your hip there it is (1:40) Yeah. (1:41) Just show us, how big is the incision? (1:44) How big is the scar? (1:45) It’s about less than two inches.

(1:47) The biggest thing I’ve noticed, I had a terrible pain in my groin. (1:54) So that’s completely gone. (1:56) I had like a static nerve from my bum cheek down to the back of my leg, behind my knee. (2:00) That’s completely gone.

(2:02) And how far have you walked it now? (2:04) I went and watched my boy play rugby Saturday. (2:07) Oh, it was beautiful. (2:08) It was lovely. (2:10) So the car was parked away three miles. (2:14) No, I’m joking. (2:16) It was parked away, say, I don’t know, 400 metres, 300 metres, something like that. (2:21) So it was fine. (2:23) I was fine. (2:23) I used one crutch. (2:25) I can walk without the crutch at the moment, but I still got that little limp, like, where (2:29) I know I got to build my glutes up. (2:33) So I got to find.

(2:33) Was it kind of what you were hoping for? (2:36) And more. (2:37) And more. (2:37) And more. (2:38) At first, because I know, because I’m a very, I’m a big, chunky monkey, like, I knew I’d (2:43) have a little bit of trouble. (2:45) But it’s great. (2:47) It’s great. (2:47)

And how long were you in for? (2:49) One night. (2:50) I had it done on the Friday. (2:51) It was almost Saturday. (2:53) Amazing. (2:55) Amazing.

(2:56) What about sort of pain relief and stuff? (2:58) Do you take it much? (3:00) Um, now. (3:01) And would you recommend it? (3:03) A hundred percent. (3:04) I was just talking to a gentleman up there, and I said, you’re in safe hands. (3:07) Go for it. (3:08) You got to. (3:09) You got to.
