Keith’s Rapid Recovery Bilateral Hip Replacement Experience
(0:00) So it’s three weeks? Yeah. Both hips? It is amazing isn’t it.
Morphine, anything to resolve the pain and just keep sleeping. (0:09) Weren’t sleeping, couldn’t walk upright, didn’t want to walk anywhere, couldn’t sit, couldn’t stand.
(0:14) In the building trade, but gas engineer and wet room, disabled bathrooms. He couldn’t do what (0:19) was it? He couldn’t do it, couldn’t get down, couldn’t get up. I thought it was genuinely, (0:23) I was going to end up not walking for a long, long time.
(0:29) Probably because of what, the anaesthetic and that, but no. No pain. And then you got up, (0:35) you walked around with us. How did that feel? About five hours after. Felt all right, (0:39) a bit wobbly. Then you got home, you rested up for a few days. Got home and I done, as we said, (0:44) in bed. Then I, well, we bought a recliner. It stands you up because I was having pain.
(0:49) Our settees are too low. Off your crutches within just over a week and off all your sticks, (0:55) within three and a half, four weeks.
I read all your things and I was believing it, (1:01) but to actually have them done and that pain I’ve had for two years. (1:07) But yeah, talking to you and Kristian, amazing. And when I read the report of how long it took. (1:14) How long did it take? 29 minutes. (1:16) To do both? Yeah.
I can’t praise you more than, I wish if the NHS had been honest with me (1:22) and said it’s going to be a year, which it nearly was, I’d have come in September. I’ve reviewed (1:28) and I can’t say enough. The hospital, fantastic. And recommended it to your friends? (1:33) Oh yeah, I have. There’s a guy who wants his knee, he’s quite heavy, he’s a bit, (1:37) but he’s going to phone you for a consultation. Perfect.
