Holly’s Osteotomy Surgery
(0:00) My friend literally one of my best mates. I was actually out with her recently and she was making me walk up and down the carpark because she was like, look at you walking down the street. (0:08) So, yeah, it’s definitely a big, big difference. We’re getting there.
(0:11) What we can see is that three screws are holding the piece of bone that we’ve reflected up.
(0:17) It’s gone back as a biological plate and fixed with three screws and supported with two staples. (0:23) Now the tibia, instead of being like this, the slope of the tibia is downhill, which is what we were aiming to do. (0:28) So this is a slope changing osteotomy, flexion osteotomy.
(0:32) And this is something that Ronald’s really he’s he’s pioneered this technique and he’s really described it in a way that everyone follows. (0:40) So, yeah
If I go up the middle of the shin and over we’ve now given you a 5 degree downhill slope by putting in a wedge of bone here and fixing that in a way that works to make your knee correct anatomically (0:55) So how do you know a three months down the line? How does it feel? (0:58) I already feel more stable.
The pain that I would get like on a regular ache, I don’t really have anymore. (1:03) Obviously I get a little pain it’s only three months afterwards, but a lot different. (1:07) I want to go to do Hyrox and I want to get back on a horse as well.
(1:12) Would you recommend us in terms of the experience? (1:14) Yes, I would. You were the only one that can help me, so of course I would. (1:18) Brilliant. Thank you.
