TESTIMONIAL

Glen Purnomo

Surgeon Testimonial from Dr Glen Purnomo

Hi, I’m Dr. Glen Purnomo, an orthopaedic hip and knee surgeon from Indonesia. (0:05) I first met Professor Adrian Wilson during an osteotomy course in Singapore, (0:10) organised by Dr. Lee Kong Hui, his fellow and a good friend of mine. (0:14) I later visited Adrian in London in 2023, (0:18) where I had the opportunity to learn more about his knee osteotomy techniques.

(0:23) Last week while visiting London for the ESCA meniscus certification, (0:27) I had the opportunity to sit in with Adrian again in his clinic, (0:31) and further appreciate his approach to patient care and treatment planning. (0:36) I’ve also followed his collaboration with Dr. Kristian Kley (0:39) on the minimally invasive anterolateral or rottinger approach for hip replacement. (0:45) Interestingly, I also use this technique in my own total hip replacement cases.

(0:50) I learned it from Professor Robert Huber during my fellowship at OCM in Munich. (0:57) I believe this muscle sparing approach is very promising. (1:00) It provides excellent visualisation of the acetabulum, (1:04) which I think is a major advantage.

(1:06) In my opinion, it represents an exciting future direction in hip arthroplasty. (1:12) What I particularly appreciate about Adrian’s clinic (1:14) is the combination of innovative techniques and thoughtful patient-centred care.
