TESTIMONIAL

Diana Thompson – Hip Replacement

Diana’s Rapid Recovery Hip Replacement Experience

(0:00) And now we turn around and go back to Adrian. (0:05) How’s it feeling? Actually it’s fine. (0:08) What’s this called? A dance video isn’t it, yeah.

(0:12) So obviously we want you to stand longer on the just about operated side. How does that feel? (0:17) It’s okay. It’s a bit of pressure? Yeah, it’s a bit of pressure.

(0:21) But you’re almost having the whole body weight on that side, so come and walk with me. (0:24) Forget that you had a surgery. I’m just guiding you, I’m not lifting you, (0:28) you could do that yourself.

I think so. (0:30) I will not hobble off the left side, I’ll try to have a longer loading phase on the left side. (0:37) How much pain are you in? (0:38) No, it’s just horrendous, I’m just giving you an idea.

(0:42) It’s fine, it’s fine. I feel like it’s, (0:45) you know, it’s absolutely fine. I just feel like it’s the same muscles that were tight beforehand.

(0:49) It is a bit bruised, obviously, and that’s what you feel for the next two weeks. (0:54) It doesn’t always feel like that, it just feels like it just feels like (0:57) everything’s been tight for so long, it just needs to stretch out, (1:00) and it’ll have that capability now. Okay, go for it.

(1:02) So don’t feel like it hurts. Perfect. (1:03) It’s great to see you today, obviously.

(1:04) Go into the room and let’s take a look at the wounds. (1:06) Don’t overdo it, as it’s worked out so nicely now, and don’t overdo it, don’t stress. (1:12) You’re happy with everything? (1:13) I’m absolutely happy, it went like charm, everything’s fine, the wound looks great.

(1:20) It’s completely dry right now, but Adrian is right, so don’t, (1:23) avoid like sporty activities that make you sweaty and stuff. (1:27) Then in two weeks we have a follow-up appointment, which probably is virtual. (1:33) If that’s okay.

(1:33) Yeah, that is absolutely okay. (1:34) Because I’ve got a problem, more serious, and I can come down and contact you. (1:36) And during the virtual consultation, you will peel off the wound dressing, (1:40) so that we can inspect the wound together and have a peek at how things look, (1:44) and when everything is fine, then the next one after six weeks is either virtually again, (1:50) whatever suits you.

(1:52) Because then you can just visit us and come over perfectly fine. (1:56) We do either in person or virtually. (1:58) Okay, but I mean if I’m happy with it.

(2:00) As things stand today, everything looks really good, and obviously you can go home. (2:06) Great. (2:07) It’s been a good experience so far.

(2:09) Thank you. (2:09) You’re welcome. (2:10) Good experience so far.

(2:11) Well, you two are okay.
