David’s Hip Replacement Recovery
“I was sort of walking more or less the day after the surgery.”
(0:00) I did a sort of thing on Saturday which involved quite a lot about walk about two miles and (0:06) although it was quite tiring it was sort of I wasn’t getting any pain from the hip (0:10) which certainly prior to the operation I would would have done so I’m beginning to (0:17) feel now the sort of benefits actually. That’s great, two miles at three weeks (0:21) that’s good going.
You’re three and a half weeks after your right (0:26) How’s it been? Yeah it’s been fine. I haven’t had any significant amounts of pain. (0:33) I was sort of walking more or less the day after the surgery with crutches and quite happily without any sort of assistance. (0:44) I was given sort of lots of various painkillers but the only ones I’ve been (0:49) using would be the aspirin and ibuprofen to keep the swelling down a bit but yeah (0:55) there’s been some discomfort but not significant pain.
(0:59) We looked at the wounds about that long, what do you think of the small incision? (1:02) That’s quite impressive actually, yeah because one of the things I was worried about was scarring (1:07) because I had a heart operation a few years back and I’ve got sort of like massive scars (1:13) to deal with that but it’s not seen sort of fairly small.
(1:17) Next time I speak to you in a month or so, 10 kilometre hike with your camera. (1:21) Yeah, hopefully. Thanks David, cheers.
