Charles McLaughlin – Hip Replacement

Charles’s Rapid Recovery Hip Replacement Experience

(0:00) You can walk with crutches? Yeah. And you can walk without crutches? Okay, yeah. Do a couple of steps for me? Okay.

(0:08) It’s in particular interesting as you’ve had a hip replacement before. Yes. When was that? Six years ago. (0:14) And it was obviously the right side. Yeah. So we didn’t make a revision.

No. It was two primaries. (0:18) So you have a good comparison now in between both techniques. Yeah. How was it six years ago? (0:24) Much more difficult. Yeah? Much more difficult.

In what terms? Much longer recovery, more pain. Yeah. (0:33) Were you able to walk directly after the surgery six years ago? No. So you had crutches? Yeah. Okay. (0:39) I was walking in a Zimmer frame.

Yeah. And then crutches. Okay. It is a bit stiff in the front and stuff, but generally… (0:46) Generally okay? Pretty good, yeah. And how much pain are you in right now? Very manageable. Okay.

(0:52) So you feel it’s absolutely fine to go home? Yeah. And it’s probably even better than before the surgery? Yeah.
