(0:00) It does feel like a completely different knee. I never thought I would feel like this six weeks (0:04) post surgery. I feel better six weeks post this surgery than I did post the arthroscopies in the (0:09) past.
How long have you had problems with that right knee? Since 2017, so more than five years. (0:14) It just kind of crept out of nowhere and it continued to get worse and worse and worse (0:19) until I was relying on the offloading brace for everything.
We can see just a bigger gap than we (0:24) should see on the outside and the meniscus isn’t on the cartilage like it is over here. It’s kind (0:28) of almost hovering high because you’ve lost joint surface cartilage below. You can see that (0:31) that line falls on the outside where you’ve had issues.
You had attempts at fixing the surgery, (0:36) so you’ve had some keyhole surgery on the knee.
Twice. And that wasn’t successful? Neither time (0:40) successful, major inconvenience. Didn’t help me at all.
So that’s the incision. You’re looking (0:46) very nice. This is six weeks, isn’t it? Six weeks post surgery.
And you’ve had a closing (0:50) wedge osteotomy. How much pain are you in now? I know it’s a bit uncomfortable initially. (0:53) Two out of ten.
The pain on the right side of my knee is not bad. And you’ve had that for a long (1:11) time and that’s quite debilitating. It’s still achy towards the end of the day. The scar is amazing (1:18) quite small. The swelling has been minimal. And I’m already loading it. I think six, (1:25) eight weeks from now you’ll be jumping around with it. Can’t wait.
